Life Lately

Hellooooooo!!!!! Last night as I sat in my bed trying to de-stress by drinking peppermint tea and reading Vogue, I just literally realized how physically and emotionally worn out I was. Not going to lie, these past few weeks have incredibly challenged me- in so many aspects of my life. YES, I have have done some crazzzzyyyy fun things, but I have also been hit by a bus with the amount of schoolwork that’s been thrown at me. Needless to say, my life lately has been incredibly busy. But so something that was one of my goals for 2018 (I legit just wrote 2017 before I changed that to 2018 lol) was to share the more personal side of my life with y’all. And now is the perfect time to do that! First off, schoolwork has been amped up a ton. As I’m writing this, I’m sitting in class after I took my last test before spring break. This week in total I have taken 7 tests, and three quizzes. That might be nothing for some people, but it has definitely been a challenge for me. I felt like this “midterms” (our school doesn’t have a midterms, only finals) week was SOOO much more stressful than finals, and I’m just happy I made it out alive. Spring Break is all that’s been keeping me going these past two weeks. Last weekend though was a break from all the crazy school stuff going on, as I was presented a charity-debutante ball thing. It is very hard to explain and y’all probably won’t get it unless you’re from the South or Texas hahaha- so I’ll do my best trying to explain what I did. Anyways, if you are unfamiliar with the term “debutante ball”, it’s basically a coming-of-age/presenting-your-daughter-into-society kinda thing. If you’ve seen the movie “Eloise at the Plaza” (omg, literally love that movie so much) the big ball thing is pretty much like what I went to. Everyone wore long dresses and all the men wore tuxedos, and all the debutantes wore the. Prettiest. Dresses. Ever all in white! I however, would describe my role as like a junior debutante and got presented and had to do a little curtsy on the stage & all that. All of the “junior debutantes” wore these full-length silver dresses and I LOVED the way they all looked together. It honestly was super fun, which was NOT what I was expecting it to be like. Anyways here’s a few pics from the night:

Also, as part of the debutante-ball weekend, I attended a brunch which also showcased a fashion show mainly showcasing pieces designed by the brand Julian Gold, but also ensembles were debuted by the likes of Oscar de la Renta, Victoria Beckham, Pucci, and more. I am just kicking myself due to the fact that I took zero pictures from the fashion show, but y’all just have to believe me when I say that it was amazing! Okay so one of my new (ish) favorite chill-out things to do, is to make collages! I’m sure that probably makes me sound like a complete and preschooler, but y’all it is soooo fun. A few months ago I made a physical collage out of magazines etc., but recently I’ve been doing it digitally. Making collages out of paper is a lot of work to clean up, and once you cut the thing you want to cut out- there’s no undo button, which means no mistakes. But by making my digital one, I bypass all the cons of a physical collage. But don’t get me wrong, I love making stuff with my hands and I won’t stop making collages out of tangible magazine clippings anytime soon. I put a collage that I made recently on my Instagram, and y’all really loved it! It’s so nice to share your creative handiwork and let it be inspiration to others! Two weeks ago, I also received my first Jadelynn Brooke rep box of the spring semester! I did a little unboxing on my story, because I love sharing all their amazing new items. This will be my second semester as a rep, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity which has been given to me. JLB is truly the most generous and kind company I’ve ever worked with. But of course, y’all should absolutely use my JLB code: EHHS for 15% off your order at jadelynnbrooke.com . That 15% might not seem like much, but it basically pays for shipping which can crazy ridiculously expensive sometimes, as it is with lots of companies lately. Either way, a penny saved is a penny earned amiright?

Something that I’m SUPER excited about, is my upcoming spring break! Which I think is something that we’re all excited about. This year, my family and I will be heading off to San Diego, CA- and I cannot wait to see what this adventure holds. I’ve only been to California once in my life, and it was when I went to San Francisco at age 5. Of course I don’t remember much else besides having a tea party with my American Girl Dolls and getting my hand jammed in a trolley. BUT, I’m so excited to visit a new place & see what Southern California has to offer! *also don’t worry, ya girl brought her camera with her and will DEF be snapping shots of everything I see and love for a travel-recap blogpost next week...stay tuned:) I hope y’all enjoyed this little life recap, & thanks for sticking around!!!
